Rephrase: Which one is more difficult: military basic training or jail/prison?

Apologies for the last question I posted. I meant which one is harder in comparison to the difficulty/stress levels associated with each of the environments. By no means am I comparing a prisoner with a military service member.

And I dislike people who assume just because I'm on Y!A that I've never been to basic training. I went through basic training during 2004 in Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri, B-310.
 
PRISON/JAIL- that person is already doing time, his trial is over, and he knows where he is and what he is doing. Other than running around the cell to get away from Big Bubba.

Military basic- the DI is breathing down your neck, you have to meet requirements, you face the unknown, and never know what is next. At times, you think you are not getting enough sleep, and at times not enough to eat, not to mention, for the young kid, who has never left home and his experience is a DI in his face day in and day out.

Military has it hands down, but I would do it all over again.
 
They both suck in such different ways that I cannot even fathom how someone could answer your question.

However, in the service at least you are doing something worhwhile for your health and mind and not just rotting in a cell.
