American cars are cheaper to work on than any foreign car. Year for year that is. BTW, a 'tune up' for a 3000GT is $800. A tune-up for a Ford truck might be $50-$100. Cheaper if you do it yourself.
Repair costs are generally a bit higher with imports (not as much as many think though), but you'll have to make them less frequently, thus making them cheaper in the end. (German is more expensive than Japanese)
