I see Blockbuster have recently started renting dvd's before they are available to buy. Like a few years ago when videos always came out to rent first and buy a few months later. They currently have Son OF Rambow as exclusive which was a fairly major hit earlier in the year. Up to now their exclusives have been lesser known titles although they did have The Bank Job a few weeks ago. Does this mean a swing back to the old days where all movies will be rental only at first or is it a last ditch effort by the blockbuster chain to revive the rental side which i assume must have suffered as the rental prices have gone down. Also the Choices chain going under must have made Blockbuster a bit worried too. With PPV channels like Sky Box Office also getting more up to date and only a few weeks behind dvd release. They are even showing new release films. The Cottage was on SBO on the day of dvd release. All of this must be having a dent on the rental side. Blockbuster's radio aRAB sound desperate as they tell us you cant get this anywhere else other than blockbuster!
