inspector is going to be!? Hi, I'm about to purchase a rental property. I'm am an experienced investor and I am not represented by a RE agent on this deal. I hired a home inspector to do an inspection next week. My plan was to NOT tell the SELLER's RE agent who my inspector is. The reason is in order to ensure the RE agent does not have a chance to speak with him prior to inspection and "through him a word" if you know what I mean. it's a small community and people know each other there while i am from another city. HOWEVER, the RE insisted insisted I tell him who it is going to be mentioning something like "I need to know who is going to walk into the property". so I told him who it is going to be.
Did I do the right thing telling him? Was it ethical of him to insist I provide the information. Now I am afraid he knows the home inspector and will speak with him prior to inspection. Who knows perhaps the RE agent is a friend of his(?) By the way the home inspector is a certified reputable home inspector. Thoughts? Thanks & Regards, Neil
