Renaissance Fair And Camping Trip! Do you have any suggestions?

My boy and I are planning a trip to the Kansas City Renaissance Fair in the fall and we want to do the uber nerd thing and have a "period" (or something at least period-esque) campsite. Does anyone know...
-Where can I find a "period" tent for under $200?
-What food should we pack? (I have a general idea, but I'm open to suggestions)
-What else can we do to have a fun fantasy adventure?
