Removing my line of service?

A few days ago i had an accident with my phone falling out of my pocket when flushing a toilet and my phone went down the toilet. i have t mobile service on it but since i'm not going to be using it anymore obviously i was wondering if its possible for me to remove my line of service. my fiance is the main line and i was just added under his line. our contract is still going right now. i just want to find out if i can stop just my line so we aren't paying for a phone that's not being used
