Anyone know what is the best stuff to remove fine scratches on my fuel tank...Im not using car polish as its too harsh and Plexus does not remove them....any ideas?

Hey Fabo,
I use meguiars polishes and find them very good, i have also used Autoglym when i was was a panelbeater/spraypainter for 5 years both are very good with great results and get the meguiars polishing little sponges to apply polish and the best polishing clothes are terry towels is you or your misses goes to Kmart buy a 10 or 15pack of terry towel nappies bring them home put them in the washing machine wash they with washing power then wash again with a lot of fabic softener then put straight into dryer tumble dry they will they fuff up and are very soft, with the different meguiars grades of polish don't go more then N/o2 it is used for scratches, then N/o7, then N/o9, then yellow wax to finish with also mark with artline texture the number of polished used on clothes and sponges so you only use them for that polish and all of these can be washed in the machine ready for next time.
Cost to get started is not all that bad but will last you for years you will mostly use N/o9 and yellow wax.
anyway hope this is of some help to you.

i use mcguires gold class, it is a car polish but it is really light and creamy. this stuff is not a cutting polish, i've always used it and definately recommend it

Yeah, Plexus is only good for cleaning....POLISH MY ASS! I hate false advertisement.

Fabo,

Let me know what works the best, especially on plastics!

the best way is still use a three stage process.

I start with 1500-2000 grit wet sand paper, depending on how deep the scratches are. then I rub it out with a fine grit rubbing compound, then this is the best way to get a perfect polish, pick up a bottle of plastic lens polish. this is what auto restorers use to restore antic headlights and signal lights, etc.... this stuff is ultra ultra fine polish and work miracles, then wax.

Yes fabo meguiars gold class is what I use now as I ran out
of yellow wax. You are all talking about plastics which yes the fairings are made out of but they are painted and it is just like polishing your car. If you have any trouble fabo just let me know and I will try to help u out.

Zaino always worked for me.
