Removing dodge ram seat?

Hi, I have a 05 ram 1500 quad cab.I'm about to add a amplifier and need to remove my front seats.But upon inspection I discover that there is a metal plate screwed onto the tracks on the driver side and on this plate there is a connector and wires running under the seat and to the center console.My seats are not power nor are they heated.I was just wondering what that connector is and if it is safe to remove it.Thanks in advance to replies
