Remaking NADIA as a series of movies.

Hearing that Hideaki Anno is currently invested in remaking NEON GENESIS EVANGELION as a series of movies (something which I highly question; not that I am a fan or anything, but I feel that the franchise in general has been milked out to its full potential, I found myself brainstorming:

"What if Anno took that very approach with NADIA?"

Don't get me wrong, I like NADIA a lot as a show, but it is also very uneven in its current 39-episode count, with a good third of its episodes coming across as absolutely bad and wasteful (not to mention damaging to the characters and their relationships). As such, it is the sort of series that could DEFINITELY benefit from a "movie remake" treatment. The story would be much tighter, the characterizations would be more solid and consistent, and the animation wouldn't be so all over the place (beautiful in the opening 22 and final five episodes, HIDEOUS in the other 12).

Here's how I would imagine it to be:

MOVIE 1: This would encompass the first eight episodes of the show, from the meeting at the Eiffel Tower to the escape from Gargoyle's Island.

MOVIE 2: The Nautilus episodes-Part 1. Episodes 9-16. Ending this movie after the funeral of Fait with Nadia hugging Jean would be a wonderful note to close the movie out on, as it would show them growing closer.

MOVIE 3: The Nautilus episodes-Part 2. Episodes 17-22. Obviously.

MOVIE 4: Cut down the whole island arc to about 15-20 minutes, with most of its focus on episodes 30 and 31. After that, jump directly to episode 35 and end with episode 36, but extend both of them considerably; awesome though those two are, I felt that they were rushed at times. Lose all the slapsticky gags, derailed characterizations, and especially the whole Africa village storyline.

MOVIE 5: The last few episodes of the show, only being significantly extended; again, I always felt that this ending, although grand, felt rushed in places. The final epilogue in which we see what happens to the characters could be longer, too, so as to have a more satisfying resolution (scenes like Electra, as well as J&N having their own children).

What do you think? Does this sound like a solid idea? I know it's not likely to happen, but hey, can you blame me for imagining?
