Remakes,and sequels.

Are you lot sick of the endless remakes, rehashes, and sequels galore of films.New nightmare on elm street ,chucky!anaconda 3+4,the day the earth stood still,I could go on forever with this. No more originality any more.

Theres nothing wrong in remaking films imo; if you don't like the remake then just remember the original. All this "it ruined/was an insult to the original" crap is a waste of breath.

The Day The Earth Stood Still looks interesting, having seen the 1951 original I'm interested and will be going to see it. I personally liked Gus Van Sant's Psycho remake in 1998.

As for sequels, some are needed and some are not. Scream 2 was better than the original but Scream 3 was abysmal. I'm looking forward to Scream 4 if Craven and Williamson are involved (Williamson especially). I also liked Halloween H:20. Bad sequel for me is Martix: Reloaded.

One sequel I think they should do is Notting Hill 2 (same actors, same writer, same director).

:)

its a business and the very few studios have a monopoly over what appears in our cinemas,
if you had to invest in a sure return on investment or a new idea of a movie that might not return what would you invest in?
we haven't seen a "blair witch" movie made for nothing making a huge return, for years,
also when was the last time you had two or more big releases on the same weekend,

too many people with too much leisure time, going to the cinema for the hell of it, not questioning the quality of the releases and not have a choice to see something else, just watching what is given to them, thats the problem

Don't you just hate it when people remake threaRAB or sequels to threaRAB. ;)

Blair Witch won't have a sequel because the studio realises that the first one will lose the one thing it has - realism. If two separate groups went into the wooRAB, the second group knowing what happened to the first, there would be no scope for realism. The film as an idea simpy would not work.

It wasn't really bad but it had the impossible task of being a straight up,Hollywood style horror and following a very different, cult movie which would be hard to give any type of sequel to.

On it's own it's OK,hardly memorable,but not a turkey.

If you watch Book of Shadows without comparing it to The Blair Witch Project ot thinking of it as it's sequel then it's actually a good film and quite creepy.

The "genre" movies (scary, epic etc.) are getting on my nerves and I haven't even watched them. I seen bits and peices.

Scary movie was ok and when the makers of Airplane took over you thought it would improve. They're just beating a dead horse now.
