I will state my case. I believe in fact not faith. "You don't have to believe that there are fairys at the bottom your garden to see it's beauty". Douglas Adams.
Shall we have a debate was the question. If you do do not have an opinion than why respond. So far most of the responses, from the god side, have been either slightly hysterical or an insult to my intelligence. Well I certainly stirred up a hornets nest!
End of debate. Thankyou all for your input I will now go and shoot myself! Have none of got a sence of humour!

Well, can you factually tell us how the earth started or how we got here? I mean, we all know "evolution theory" etc but can you state step by step exactly how the earth was formed? Exactly how life began, etc?

Is it not somewhat by "faith" in science that ones base evolution, etc. on?

When you look at our planet....everything works. Thats fact. If the planet was slightly off on size, life would not exist here, if one thing was missing (air, water, food, etc) we would not exist here.

Everything in the universe is precise.....you can literally set your watch by it ;) How would that all come about by mere chance?

all things being equal, physical evidence outweighs faith and 2000 year old books in my opinion

I'd need to see a miracle to believe, I don't have faith and personally need the proof. If we were meant to believe without the evidence then surely God, if there is one, would have preprogrammed us into doing so instead of spending our lives searching for it.

Everyone puts a little faith in something. Have you really researched every single thing you were taught in science class or do you take some things on faith that your science teachers knew what they were talking about?

Do you take it on faith that when the lab technician takes your blood that he is actually running the tests and not just making up a bunch of numbers?

It's useless arguing with belief. You cannot have a debate abut whether people should believe in God or not. It's extremely nonconstructive.

If you are an atheist no argument I put forward can convince you there is a God. One day you will hear the Gospel message, and God will open your eyes and it will all become clear. If at this point you exercise your freewill and reject God, you are destined to go to hell. But God is merciful and will give you many chances in your lifetime to accept or reject Him. unfortuanately you do not know when you are going to die, there are no chances after death.
