Religion during World War I?

Hi. I'm doing a project on WWI in newspaper format and one of the articles that I have to write is about religion. I know that during WWI, everything is focused on inventions and technology but was there anything that's related to religion? Maybe the soldiers in the military had a specific religion?

Help would be appreciated.

Religion didn't play a role in starting the war, and the combatants didn't refer to the enemy based on religion but rather based on nationality. For example, most of Germany was Protestant, as was Britain. France and Austria were Catholic, while Russia was Orthodox. In addition Indian and Arab troops served in Europe, some Hindu or Muslim. Yet once again they fought for their nation, that was what was at stake not religion, the quest by Europeans to impose specific religions ended in the 17th century.
