Following is a list of wars involving the US or UK in the 20th Century and their reasons for starting:
WW1 - Assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria. Within weeks the major European powers were at war; their global empires meant that the conflict soon spread worldwide
WW2 - German invasion of Poland and subsequent declarations of war on Germany by most of the countries in the British Empire and Commonwealth, and by France.
Korea - Civil war gone awry, each side backed by a superpower with opposing policital ideologies
Vietnam - Civil war gone awry, each side backed by a superpower with opposing policital ideologies
Falklands - Disputed British / Argentina territory
1st Gulf War - Iraqi invasion of Kuwait
Ireland - 1169 first Anglo/Norman Invasion. Dispute over territory - Even if both side were catholic or protestant, war/conflict/terrorism was about disputed British / Irish territory not religion. An unresolved issue.
These are of course brief synopsis
The statement "Religion causes all wars" is wrong
Do you agree?
