excitement gone for good? Met a guy through mutual friend. Dated for about a month now. First 3 weeks were great. Amazing. Has an infant son through a very complex/unique situation, is currently an NCO and is up for promotion next week. We live just over an hour apart and only really see each other on weekends. I'm also prior Army and currently a nanny. So, I understand the board, certain pressures of having an infant around and being a soldier.
About 2 weeks ago, he started studying hardcore for the board. Then took a long weekend last weekend to see his family. So, we haven't really spent any time together for 2 weeks or so...Got in our first fight last night because I don't think he ever sounds happy or excited to talk to me or see me lately. (Not a good phone communicator, but very affectionate and good in person) Stress from board? Stress from teething infant son? Both? Either way, we were planning to spend this whole weekend together and he asks last night if he can have today to himself. No son, no girl...just work and hardcore studying. As I said, I understand the stress from everything, but I'm curious if its normal that a guy would be unable to be happy to see his girl or not very excited about a weekend together because of studying and work stresses?
Obvious answer is to wait until after the board and see if things go back to the way they were....But I'm just curious if any guys have been there before? Did you feel the same way- overwhelmed, disjointed, detached?
Should I still be excited about this guy and spending time together or should I be preparing for a rapid downward spiral?
