Regular Paint on Jeans Instead of Fabric?

I want to splatter my favorite pair of skinny jeans with paint. My idea is to just take all these different colors of house paint I have leftover and splatter it with my fingers. Would that work, or do I have to go buy special fabric paint?
I originally already had sum white paint that hasnt come out yet. Im not sure if its paint or primer tho...
 
fabric paint is an acrylic, so long as it's the housepaint is also an acrylic paint, you'll be good. but make sure to wash your jeans by hand after this. whether you use fabric paint or house paint, it will still fade like crazy the minute you stick it in the washer and dryer.
