Having just parked my car in a spot at Children's hospital garage and getting out I heard a lady at the car behind me saying that my car door just hit her car so hard that it shook her car. I never even realized that my door had bumped her car much less hit it hard enough to shake her car. She had an attitude in her voice. I told her that I'm sorry if I did that, but I didn't realize it if I did. There was a small scuff line on her car so I assumed at that time maybe it was possible. Having her rushing around her car to check it I just moved out of her way. I told her that I do have insurance if she wanted to call for a report and exchange information. My daughter was getting the grand baby out of the car and mentioned that she needed to go on inside due to the appointment time. I then told her to go on, but remembered she had my cell phone so I ask her to leave it with me so I could take pictures. The lady's car was in the parking space at a crooked angle with the back end next to my car on the edge of the yellow line. Which my daughter pointed out to her. The lady got her own phone with camera and said as she began to take pictures that she (either works or worked for) Allstate. At the time she was wearing clothing that a nurse would wear so I had just assumed she was a nurse at Children's. I took a picture of the space between her car and mine. The lady was taking her own pictures and complaining of the lighting in the garage. It was a bit dim because of the cloudy day also. My daughter then went on inside at this time. The lady put her phone inside her car then at that time said she would need my insurance information. I went and got my insurance card, driver license and registration. I met her at the back of her car and laid my information on her trunk. She had a small notebook pad in her hand and immediatelly began to copy down information from my cards. As she did so I told her I needed her information also. She didn't respond and basically ignored my request. I took out my calendar book and wrote down her tag information for myself while she finished and handed me back my information. Then she goes to put the notebook back in her car. I backed up and took a photo of her licence plate. When I took the photo of her plate she told me never mind, not to worry about it. She didn't believe insurance would cover it anyway. Now I became a bit suspicious of the fact that she never gave me her information nor even volunteered to verbally tell me her name. She didn't call the police, nor did I and now I regret not calling them myself. The lady had other people in the car with her. I didn't get a good look at the others, I believe though based on what I could see through her tinted windows there was someone in the front passenger seat as well as someone in the back seat. How many people for sure I don't know. I went inside and met up with my daughter. When we returned to the parking garage they were still sitting there in that car. I carefully got inside and we left. I wanted to get home and tell my husband about it and see if he would or if I should call our insurance to report this. I had a bad feeling once she didn't provide me with her own information that she might be trying to set me up for insurance fraud or possibly even ID theft for all I know. My husband was angry about me giving my information to her without getting her information as well as me giving it without the law being called to do a report. He was also upset and concerned that if this does get reported to our insurance and they do have to pay it off our insurance will go up. I feel this does need to be reported regardless of what my husband says his fears are. My worry is what she may use my information for.
