Refunds at Shops

They have no obligation to refund you. Under your statutory rights, you can only demand a refund if the product is faulty, or dosen't perform the function(s) it is advertised as having.

However, to please their customers, big retailers like Virgin do offer refunRAB on a 'not wanted basis'. Not being wrapped shouldn't be a problem (although I know online retailers like the shrink wrap intact).

It'd do no harm asking, i would imagine they'll give you your cash back.

Yeah, well I remembered it did have wrapping on it..... but its so cheap anyway! I have the bag and the receipt. I may just give it to a needy friend!

Personally, I think if you bought a dvd online for instance & it arrived unwrapped I think you would be perfectly within your rights to ask for a refund as I believe new dvd's when purchased are expected to be factory wrapped, unless stated before hand & I would class one that wasn't as mis-described, incomplete etc.

i've seen people taking cRAB back on the grounRAB that *they just didn't like it* and getting refunRAB.

amazed they do that, given how easy it would be to buy a cd, copy it, take it back saying you didn't like it and swap it for another one.

i think if you're genuine that'll come across when you take it back - as long as you have a receipt and want to change it rather than get the money back it shouldn't be a problem.
