I've asked this question several times but haven't been fully satisfied with the answers I got. No disrespect to those who answered. I'm asking so obviously I don't know any that satisfy what I want. Anyway, once again...
I want to be scared! Not just grossed out by gore but on the edge of my seat with my hands ready to cover my eyes at a sudden movement or noise. I like lots of moments that make you jump, loud noises, sudden close-ups yadda yadda.
BUT, I should note that I like ghosty creepy scary over slasher gory scary. Some slashers I like if they're really good and scary but I prefer ghosts.
Some of my favorites are:
The Grudge
The Sixth Sense
The Ring
What Lies Beneath
Gravedancers
... stuff like that. Basically I love Asian Horror style but I don't like watching subtitles.
Any suggestions?
Btw, I HATE:
The Hills Have Eyes
House of 1000 Corpses
So try to avoid recommending movies like those please.
