redsnow error - "unable to recognise specified IPSW"

Hi there, I have downloaded multiple versions of redsnow (0.9.5b5-2 to 0.9.5b5-5) still i keep getting the error "unable to recognise specified IPSW".

my phone is 3G - trying to restore using firmware version 4 or 4.0.1.

PLEASE HELP
 
i had the same problem, it didnt work. i later used spirit to jailbreak and instal cydia onto the ohone
 
for jailbreak 3G you need select redsnow firmware 4.0 to jailbreak your iphone not 4.01
 
hii evn im facing some problm.. im not able to restore 3g 3.1.2 to 4.0.. i have tyied to restore in dfu mode aslo... same error... anyone can tell me whts wrong..?? apple has closed singin 4.0???

Apple stopped signing 4.0 since 4 days ago.
Restore to 4.01 ..then point RedSnow to the 4.0 .ipsw ...(IPSW sucessfully identified)
It works ...because the Baseband remains unchanged in 4.01
