Details. I graduated USAF basic training with flying colors, started schooling, but didn't complete. By definition I am a DOS in that I was generally discharged in July of 2001 just a little under the 180 day mark. It means I'm not prior service, I am previous service. I am now re-enlisting in the Army and there's many questions that many different recruiters are telling me. I really only have one question, but will ask two for the sake of response and knowlodge. Please only respond if it's something you think you know for a fact.
1.) I took my asvab back in 1999, I have been told from some it's good for life, others it has to be retaken after 2 yrs.
2.) Do I have to take the full 10 wks of army basic or will I be sent to ft sills and do the refresher? I have been told that unless I was going marines, no, I passed basic training once already. I was told by another army doesn't consider USAF basic to be real and make all prior af take full basic upon re-enlistment.
PLEASE INCLUDE AN INTERNET LINK VERIFYING WHAT YOUR SAYING. THANK YOU.
