Red Steel opinions?

I'm on the fence about Red Steel..
I keep reading that its crap and its not worth buying, but then every once in a while I hear that its really good.
Saturday night I went to buy it and the EB dude said it sucked and I would return it the next day. So I held off and bought Trauma Center instead.

Now im wondering if I should have bought it when I had the chance.
 
Its a decent game if you ignore the poor voice acting & controls.

The main reason why Red Steel sucks is the control system. Its so poor, it ruins the game. Some people have been able to get used to it.
 
i personally found that the sword fights just kill the game.

if you can get used to the low fps, the bad acting, the very annoying sword fights, and the bugs it has, the game is decent.
 
I got it from gamefly this weekend and it almost went instantly back in its case. I usually like to try to give games a chance, but there is no excuse for the controls.
 
I watched an interview of 2 of the guys who made the game a few weeks back. They even said the controls suck but that they were told to do them that way (not told to make them suck, but just the style they went with), but if there is a Red Steel 2 they promised to make the controls like they feel it should have been for this game.
 
definatly hold off, i bought mine coz it was cheap, some launch special, but im going to trade it asap, shitty graphics, shitty controls.
