Red light on Xbox Live wireless network adaptor?

xbox live works fine with occasional dropouts, then we got a new modem/rouder to fix the dropouts thats worked but i cant connect to xbl now because of a red light on the back of my xbox ive figured it out that the adaptor doesnt read WPA2 security settings for the modem i changed it to wep it worked fine then my internet crashed for 4 days... not doing that again any help is appreciated thanks
