red light on official ps3 bluetooth?

i have a official sony bluetooth for the ps3 and it normally works fine. but sometimes i think i press the button too many times and the red circle lights up. when i turn it off the red light comes on and when it is on it turns off. but when it does this it wont connect to my ps3 please help.
