Hi, I had to go to the hospital a couple of days ago and a nurse took some blood out from my right arm. I have just noticed that I have quite a lot of red dots under my skin near the area where the nurse took blood from. Also it looks bruised but I can't feel any pain.

What is it and is it anything to worry about? Thanks

Nothing to worry about....I have had that often.

If you feel any lumps or discomfort, you could enquire at that clinic as to what you should do. I've had some technicians poke the needle around because they weren't getting any blood...sheesh!

its starting to hurt sometimes now. The bruise marks and red dots are starting to fade away slowly but it starting to hurt.

Does that mean anything or will it disappear on its own?

hurt as in absolutely painful? or just when you touch it or bend your arm?

You should call the place where you got your test done and see what they say about it..plus your doctor's office.

ARe there any lumps?

It feels a bit sore when i bend the arm. It doesn't hurt much when i lift things or put pressure on it, only when I bend it.

I have also noticed that the red dots are getting less so it must be a good sign. Also is this normal when blood gets taken out?

for some yes...and I believe it has everything to do with who is taking the blood and what size needle.

Mine can hurt whe bending my arm too...and I've had bumps in there too. Worst was a huge bruise, which was obviously bleeding from where the technician went through the vein or moving it around so much.

SounRAB as though you'll be fine.

Oh, forgot to ask if some of the red dots could be from the bandaid? I have sensitivity to them as well, especially when it's in the crook of a joint that moves and "sweats", etc..
