I'm just wondering why people would pay so much for the DLC codes...I remember when Splinter Cell: Conviction came out it was the same thing. The SC3000 and Silenced Shotgun were going for as much as around $80 or so...I think that's the highest I saw...might've been even higher as I seem to recall one being at $100+ but I can't be certain.
Now the three Red Dead Redemption bonuses from GameStop (Deadly Assassin), Amazon (Golden Guns), and Best Buy (War Horse), all seem to be doing the same. The War Horse especially is selling for around $60...the same price as the game itself. And I even saw the Golden Guns up to around $50 or so, but they seem to have dropped, and the highest I've seen the Assassin suit was like $30-$40.
Anyway, back to my question, why would people pay so much for these items? Especially the Golden Guns which I'm pretty sure Rockstar said would be unlockable via completing the online challenges for the different guns.
I seriously don't understand why anyone would pay $30-$60 or more for any of these items. Heck, I wouldn't even pay over $5 for any of them. MAYBE the War Horse...I might pay $10 for that, but nothing more. Honestly, if they would have been released as DLC on the Marketplace, and on the PSN, I wouldn't expect them to be more than 160MSP (or $2) a piece, so why pay much more than that for them?
@claustrophobic donkey,
No, I understand that. I pre-ordered the game from Amazon and got the free DLC. But if you go on eBay, just type in, Red Dead Redemption War Horse, and look at some of those.
All the auctions explicitly state, "THIS IS FOR THE DLC ONLY, THE GAME IS NOT INCLUDED".
And yet, they are still selling for that price. I actually got two Golden Gun codes from Amazon because of some mistake they made, and I sold my extra one on eBay for about $30 earlier today.
And the buyer was completely happy...so they knew it wasn't for the DLC and the game...just the DLC. So, people ARE paying $30 and higher for these DLC items. And they did the same thing for the SC3000 and Silenced Shotgun in SC: Conviction.
