I know they are fever blisters without question but it's not being caused by Herpes Simplex.

L-lysine no I haven't tried that, I have used cold sore medication ointment and antibiotic ointments, but the blistering usually gets worse after you put something on it.

I'm wondering whether this might be a sign of Lupus or maybe chronic epstein bar virus issues simply because of the degree of fatigue that comes with it. At my next outbreak, I'm getting an ANA done to see how high the titer is doing the outbreak.

I still feel that you have a yeast problem. It might not be thrush from the antibiotic but candida can do lots of harm in your body. You said that you have EBV. Did you test positive for that. I have a lot of the same symptoms as you. I have been taking something called cell food. I think it has helped somewhat as far as the body aches and the fatigue. Also have you ever heard of MMS. Miracle Mineral Solution (I think). It is suppose to be fantastic. Google it and let me know what you think. A store near me is selling it and I was thinking of trying it. I was recently diagnosed with having something on my lung that they feel might be cancer. I have to go for a pet scan. I am waiting for approval from my insurance co. This MMS is suppose to eradicate cancers, bacteria, fungus, lyme disease, malaria, etc. Good luck and let me know what you think.

My doctor has seen these sores, he told me before he thought it looked like canker sores but that really isn't typical of occuring on the outer part of your lip. I do have a tendancy of getting yeast vaginitis. Hate to say this, but I hope it is Lupus, I'd feel like I'd finally be getting a reasonable explanation to my problems. I haven't heard of cell food or MMS. I haven't had much luck with OTC products helping me feel any better and I have tried alot of stuff. Yes I had blood work that showed I had EBV like 10 years ago. Well that doesn't sound good. Really hope that turns out okay for ya. That must be awful to have to sit around waiting approval for a test that is going to tell you whether or not you have cancer.
 
It's starting. My tounge is so inflammed I can barely eat anything. I have sores under my tounge, roof of my mouth, feels like a bad sore throat (but it's not), I did the exact same thing last time before I broke out with fever blisters.
