Recplacing a headlight on a Ford Focus?

It's the metal clip that holds the bulb in place causing me problems. I can't figure it out. I can pull it back, but not enough to remove the bulb. I can push it forward and down, but that seems to do nothing. I'll be damned if I'm going to break it. I just want to know how it actually is supposed to work so that I can get the bulb out.
Actually Don, it's a 10 year old car.

If the owner's manual doesn't tell how, look in Chiltons, or some other auto repair manual. The Library has them if you don't want to buy your own. You also can go to Ford and pay them $50 to do it. Why is a headlight burned out on such a new car? My old '72 Colt didn't need new headlights for 9 years. I would try and get the best quality bulb available if they're so hard to replace. I'm still using the original bulbs in my '98 Corolla. Looking in the Chiltons, the replacement is a pain in the rear. The Focus is based on Mazda, but they must not be able to get the same good Japanese parts for Ford that Mazda uses.
