Recovery from Gallbladder surgery

It is normal to be sick, throwing up, 36 hours after surgery? I felt fine after the surgery, very sore, but no sickness. I ate lite last night, mac & cheese and crackers. In the middle of the night I was soooo sick, and feel sick again this morning, which is 48 hours after surgery. Should I call my surgeon, or is this just apart of recovery? I don't want to pull anything inside with all my throwing up, is this possible? Thanks for the insight!

IT could be a reaction to the anesthesia, or you could be having a reaction to a medication. I would call you doctors office now because you don't want to pull out anything after gall bladder sugery...

It takes time for your body to adjust without a gallbladder.

The mac/cheese was too much fat for your body to handle.

Eat soft foods, no fat, etc for 2 weeks and see how things go.

Yes, my surgeon said after one day I could eat anything. Well, that was not true. I could not handle dairy, fat, and several other things.

You need to ease into eating regular food again.

Beano and Gas-X were my friends.

I had mine out 2 weeks ago and was also sick the 2-3 days. The antibiotic (Keflex)was too hard on my stomach since I hadn't eaten much of anything in so long. Once it was discontinued I felt better and was able to eat. Some things still bother me a bit, so take it easy.
