Hi..new to this, but need some guidance. I had surgery a week ago. anterior..repair. I am still exhausted, taking a shower and a walk across the house is exhausting... I am not used to this...and not getting much support, or answers.. I don't feel like I should drive, because I am still shaky. I am not a whiney person, I work 12 hours a day...(except now) have 5 children from 7 to 30 so I can do hard work. What is going on...and guidance or ideas on what I should expect would be helpful All I was told is not to lift over 10 pounds and take it easy...

It usually takes 6 weeks for healing after procedures like you had. Give it time for your body to recover and definitely take it easy.

Just being put to sleep for surgery takes the starch right out of your body and will take time to recover.

Most surgeons suggest no driving for 6 weeks after procedures.

Definitely do no lifting until your body has had time to heal good. 6 weeks is only the minimum, incisions are barely healed/connected at this stage and will be easy to pull apart.

For complete recovery it may take a year. At that time you will look back and realize it takes a long time for COMPLETE recovery and back to normal.
