Reconnecting Palm to computer

Hello,
I recently had to "re-image" my computer, where all locally installed programs are erased. This included Palm Desktop. I reinstalled the program, but when I try and sync my Palm (T2) to my computer, i get the following error in the error log:

HotSync operation started 09/30/04 13:32:05
HotSync Error:
An application failed to respond to a
HotSync notification. Please check the Palm Desktop for details. (8009)
HotSync operation complete 09/30/04 13:32:05

Basically, it just starts the sync and gets this message immediately. I currently have information on my PC and I want to sync my palm to this. I assume it is a username/profile that is the problem, but i am not sure how to correct this.

An 8009 error normally occurs because of a third party program failing to respond to the system notification or a registry problem. Since you have had to reimage the drive, the registry may not have been properly restored. The first thing to try is just uninstalling and then reinstalling the Palm desktop.
