Recommend me a phone

Hi there!

I'm looking to upgrade my phone in the next couple of months, and I would welcome any suggestions. I've just been promoted at work to System Administrator, and want to give a better impression when I'm out and about.

My current phone is the w850i, which I like for it's features, but I'm not overly impressed by it's feel - I think it feels a bit cheap, and doesn't look very professional. I've had it nearly a year now, too. My previous phone was the Razr Vx, which was also ok, but the keypad was poor, and damaged easily and badly.

What I'm looking for is a phone that looks suitable for an IT professional. with good build quality, which is stable, has a sensible user interface and a good sized screen, and will last me at least 12-18 months depending on the contract I get. Good call quality is a must too.

It will have to be available on Vodafone UK, and, like a true IT man, the more gadgets the better - but I'm happy to forego them for the right phone.

I have no preference for manufacturer, having had Nokia, Ericsson, and Motorola in the past (8 phones in all), and I prefer flip or slider phones, although I'll consider a candy-bar phone if it has everything I'm looking for. I'm not too bothered about price - I'll be getting it on a 12-18 month contract as mentioned above.

Thanks in advance!

you could try te Z8. it's a (symbian) smartphone, so it may appeal to your nature. on the other hand, i'm not sure if that qualifies as a "sensible" user interface, depending upon what you mean by that.

If you need QWERTY keyboard - E61i, if you dont, E65 does everything E61i does, in a smaller package.

If you dont mind size at all, need GPS and a 3.2mp cam - E90 is the be all and the end all.

Actually, I would be able to get the E90 - it's available from Phones4u on a vodafone contract - I'm currently with Carphone Warehouse/Vodafone, but they don't deal with Voda any more, so when i upgrade, it will be via another outlet so I can stay on the network.
