I like horror movies that are psychologically affecting, like Paranormal Activity, which is a very "it could happen" movie, and scares you without any over-the-top stuff. Please don't recommend Blair Witch Project. Stalker and serial killer movies also work, but not ones that are all about the gore. More ones that make you paranoid and freak you out to the point that you'd lock your bedroom door and windows at night.
