Recessed led's in rkc bags?

I am thinking I'd like to mount a set of recessed LED turn signals in my KRC saddle bags, and do away with the standard turn signal bar. Has anyone done this? If so...what brand did you use? My concern is cutting through the leather, and "bunching" the leather when cutting the hole, and also for sealing the signal to keep the bags somewhat watertight. Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated...Thanks!

I never did what you are describing but I did install saddlebag locks on my '05 RKC that necessitated drilling through the bags. I had no issues with the leather bunching, etc. I used a hole saw and it went very smoothly.

Thanks tpmurray! It's good to know that it shouldn't be a problem with the leather portion anyway.

When I used to do car audio, we ran the hole saw in reverse through the soft stuff, like vinyl or leather first, then in forward through the plastic. Go slow and it shouldn;t be an issue.

hdfat2001, I hadn't thought about trying that. We did something similiar when cutting sheet steel by using a wood blade installed backwards in a circular saw. Thanks for the tip!
