I've always had ear problems. I get infections, constant nasal drip and my right ear always feels like it needs to be popped(I val salva constantly). If I get my heartbeat too high, my head throbs heavily and I feel a lot of pressure in my eustachian passage leading from my right ear to my nose.
About 3 months ago, I came down with something- not sure what. I had a 103.5 fever for 3 days, and was vomiting violently(It was described to me as 'the worst thing I've ever heard' from my roommate). I don't think it was contagious, nobody else caught it.(I spent almost all of last winter sick with cough and cold symptoms as well). The first 2 weeks after being sick I had horrible sickness waking up and a severely decreased appetite. My diet has changed a bit, with red meat being less and less of a staple(though I was already eating more and more white meat/fruit- maybe because I no longer work out as rigorously as before). My appetite has returned, however.
The problem I face isn't the sickness, but the fact that I have a new found gag reflex. Strong smells, taste that usually don't bother me, and just thinking about certain things gives me goosebumps and makes me begin to retch. I'm really not sure what would cause this, or if there would be a way to subdue it- but it has become very bothersome. I have a nasal drip that will activate it as well, if I try to clear it through my mouth/eustachial passage.
If anyone has any idea what I might be dealing with, I'd appreciate the cander.
