Received sms do not display sender's name

I have the HTC Desire Z. Sent sms display the recipients' name in the built-in sms program, but Received sms do not display sender's name, only the phone number.

How to correct this?

You may not have entered your local area codes in your contacts. When you receive an SMS, you also get the area code and thus makes the number foreign to you.

Exact answer. I entered the country code both new & old received messages display the names. Thanks a lot. John
