Rebuilt Transmission for a 1997 Ford Explorer XLT 6Cyl Cost?

I need a new transmission for the vehicle above. I was thinking about getting it used/rebuilt. How much (estimate) money should I expect to pay for one. Also, it has 4 wheel drive, so would that make the transmission cost more expensive? Thanks very much.
 
Usually the tranny will be a little more expensive for the 4x4 because you need an extra mount on it for the front drive shaft. and it should be around 1500 for a rebuilt tranny. Hope you find what you need.

if you get it use and have someone put it in make sure they flush the cooler if not i will mess the new one up at a shop it would cost about 1500 but if you go on craigslist you can find a used one for cheap and find mobile mecanics for good prices.
