Hi all
Last week, my meRAB were changed and I was placed on Singular 10mg once daily, Prendisone 50mg once daily x5 days. I am still on my ventolin and my advair 500mcg twice daily. They also did a chest xray which came back normal. My peak flows are 350 which is not ideal.
Started to feel a bit better until today. My top part of my chest(straight across) feels like someone has taken a hammer to it. I went back to the clinic to get reassessed. The doctor said I sounded good for an asthmatic. She was not impressed that my peak flows were still so low when I was not wheezing. I was only worried about the pain and "pins and needles" feeling in my head. I have a slight tight cough with no wheezing.
The doctor mentioned rebound asthma from coming off of the prendisone? I am now on another batch of 50mg x2 days and 25mg x3 days. I have to go for blood work and a EKG tomorrow to rule out the heart. She said that she was almost positive it was not the heart.
I should also mention I am in my 40s and quit smoking 13 months ago. I have noticed my asthma has changed since quitting and am slowly getting used to the new warning signs of when I am bad.
Now for the reason for this post. Rebound asthma has anyone heard of it? What else can I do to help such as vitamins? I do finally have a referal in for the asthma clinic(hubby demanded one as he says I need to figure this out with an asthma doctor).
Thank you for reading and all replies
