Rebate excludes many taxpayers with foreign spouses????

What do u think about this? Should foreigners wheather they are married to a citizen get the rebate check or not??

Personally I think they should NOT - if you are not a legal citizen and have come here illegally, or married a Military soldier SORRY but that's just too bad! Too many people come here and think they can just get stuff FREE. No way - not only that but I know TONS of men (mostly men)in the Military who have married someone from a foreign country, knowing that they just want a "free ride" to the U.S.
 
I can't dispute your postion on this subject, seeing as how I have to agree with you. Besides, more than likely these foreign born spouses contributed nothing to our economy. So why should they reap some of the benefits.
 
I read that article. I'm ok with them excluding spouses who do not yet have a valid SSN but I think they should have issued the spouse with a valid SSN their portion of the rebate.

For example: a Marine married to a foreigner does not get a rebate at all. I could see not issuing a rebate for his wife who is not yet a citizen but he should get the individual rebate. He's a taxpaying citizen.

The policy right now isn't just excluding the foreign spouse, it is disqualifying the citizen if the couple filed a joint tax return. If they had filed married, filing separately, he would have gotten his share.
