Reasons horseback riding is a sport....?

I'm fully aware that it is a sport first of all since I do ride myself.

I'm doing a research paper on this topic and I was wondering some opinions and reasons that YOU think horse back riding is a sport.

Anything at all will help me!

I think it's because you are challenging either yourself or others or both. It's competition to see who succeeds by gaining the most points - hence a sport.
 
like most sports, it entails hard work and practice
it challenges both horse and rider fitness and ability
working together
different disciplines
very famous, look at olympia-hickstead and ll the racing etc, horse and rider are one- that's diffidult to get unless you're a rider

because you have to learn things about the horse and how to ride
there are competitions held
there are objects you have to buy for them
it can be a hobby
you and your horse are a team
 
Theres many reasons!!
1.You develop musclus you didnt know you had
2.Its about working on a team
3.No pain, no gain
4.Theres gear you have to have to do the sport
5.Hard work and practice are a big part of it
6.Theres competitions
7.There are people who teach and instruct you on how to do the sport correctly
8.Hard work and determintation PAY OFF

Tell them. You get on my horse... make him look like I do and then tell me it's not a sport. And they can't. Haha. Sorry it makes me so mad.

Really, it is a sport because 1. There is a goal (No matter what disipline) just like any other sport. 2. It's you and your teamate (Your Horse) to do this Goal. 3. This is a sport because, we work with a 1,000+ pound animal, with trust. And we work as hard as we can, and beyond perfection.

So if people say that's not a sport. Then what is all this.
