I'm a sophomore in high school and I've been doing track and cross country since 7th grade. Whenever I run though, I arch my back. Is this normal? I've read a few articles that relate arched backs to causing shin splints. I've gotten shin splints for the last 2 cross country seasons and the last track season. However, I wasn't running in shoes that supported my extremely high arches at those times so that may be why. So is running with an arched back normal? And if it does tend to cause injuries, how should I go about fixing this?
