p), it's worth noting that in Miller's Sin City books, the women tend to be either hookers/strippers or dead. Doesn't seem like a healthy view of women to me. This is not entirely typical of the Noir genre it's pastiching.Nanny Wendy

Oh and to be a faithful translation of a series of graphic novels which, in their own way, were partly inspired by the noir films and novels of the late 30s and 40s - a big influence on the work of Miller and Tarrantino in particular who, as Histeria pointed out, like to pastiche such things in an exaggerated manner.
