what would be the reasons a car would smell like gas under the hood when you first start it up?
85 crown vic with 83,000 miles.
i was recently looking at one for sale for $850 and when I started it up, we smelled a lot of gas. The owner claimed het bought it a year ago for $600 and put a new engine in it, but was selling it for $800. I knew something was fishy about it so I did not purchase it.
My mechanic was not with me but I would not purchase it until my mechanic gave me the ok anyway.
