Rear Window

Wow, wwwwwwwwhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaat a movie. Amazing. It was on ITV3 the other night and it was just fantastic. I had never seen it for some reason, watched and loved alot of other Hitchcock movies but this one always missed me for some reason.

Now, I think "Vertigo" is still my favourite Hitchcock movie but this is an equal favourite for me now. When you consider it's age the film is all the more amazing. So very modern in alot of ways. I loved the whole thing. Just totally brilliant - perfect, actually. James Stewart was perfect in the lead role, as he always is with direction of Hitch, and Grace Kelly. Ahhhh, there are no worRAB. She played her role beautifully - perfection, again.

Wanted to shout out for this great film. Really wonderful movie. Anyone else seen it?

Seen it. Think it's Hitchcock's most overrated picture.

I don't think it's his fault though; his greatest movies Vertigo, North by Northwest and Psycho all had Bernard Herrmann composing the score.

40% of the movie IS the music, no matter how good the director is.

It is my favourite Hitchcock film. James Stewart & Grace Kelly are excellent in it and I love the suspense at the end. :)

Rear Window is one of my all time favourite movies. Superb characterisation, brilliant acting and I just love the way the suspense aspect sneakily creeps up on you so slowly but by the end you are on the edge of your seat. It is a real feelgood adventure and I would love to live in that apartment block (I'm such a nosey parker!)

haha, I'm a young one that's why I only saw it the other day. I ordered it on DVD through Amazon just today along with The Man Who Knew Too Much (1954). Already got Vertigo on DVD and is one of my very favourite films - love it.

Also saw Rebecca for the first time the other day on BBC2. Really, really excellent film. Love it!

I'm also quite young. I found North by Northwest a fascinating film, and so I had to get another Hitchcock film and this one seemed to be a lot of people's favourite, and I thought it was another great suspenseful thriller from Hitchcock. Just wondered if anyone can reccomend the next Hitchcock film I can add to my collection which is in the same vein as these two?

One of my favourites is Notorious, I think you'd like that. A very old one but really good in my view is Saboteur, but I don't know where you would get a copy of that.
