ok, so i have a problem.
There is a howling noise coming from the back of the car, it only howls when i accelorate, when i am off the gas it is silent. Any way i took it to a small time mechanic shop near me and left it with him all day.
i picked it up this evening and he tells me that my rear differentals may be gone, he said he never got to open it up but he did a test drive and he thinks it could be the whole diff. i called around and Big4 in calgary here after explaining to him, he seems to think it is most likely just the barings. Can anyone tell me how much it costs to do the rear diffs from just the barings to a whole diff change, also how long it takes.
also is it work going used or should i buy new. i currently have dana 35 on it but was told there are better ones out there if i am to take it off oad which i will at some point.
