Rear brakes making noise on jeep liberty?

I just had new rear brake pads caliper and rotor replaced on my jeep liberty,I am hearing a noise when I first apply the brakes on the rear Passenger side.It is a rubbing noise,the mechanic says that the noise will go away when the pads seat in.Anyone have this problem before?
 
It is common for your pads to sweek grind or even smoke when you first get them put on

they smoke cause when they ship the parts there is a protective coating of oil on them , but a very little. when you press on the breaks the heat and friction burns it off sometimes causing smoke.

and yes he is right about the grinding they need to seat.
what you should have done is have your TOE CAM AND DAMPER
check you can check this by eye if its really bad by looking at the tred on the tire if the tred is worn down more on a certain part of the tred. this will put an uneven amount of pressure on your axle and caliper . you could also get a warped rotor. but it would have to be really bad.

As far as one side making more noise then the other does the car wand to pull really hard to that side when you break ? if so re-bleed your rear breaks and check the positioning of the caliper it might need re adjusting.
