Really Confusing Question about LOST the TV show? 10 points for best answer!?

Okay, lately I've been wondering how the heck the women living on the island have their periods and don't get messy and stuff. Also the women of the Oceanic flight, surely they must have got some on the plane, but that would be finished in a period of time...If anybody knows any link that explains this or have a good explanation!.
