Sherry,
I'm so sorry your feeling so down. I know how you feel. It's hard when we find out we can't do all the things we did before. But the others are so right, thats not what your value is. It takes time for that to sink in and to find what we can do well. I find it hard to believe thats all your good at, I'm sure you have a broad range of talents you are capable of doing.
It took me years to realize what I do for fun I can make a few bucks on. I make greeting carRAB & invitations, now you wouldn't think you could make much at that, we made almost 5,000 last year and that was on 14 orders! Find what you do well and then build on that. Sometimes life gives us u turns and points us in a better direction than where we were headed in in the first place.
I gave up a job working at an animal shelter, it broke my heart to not be there. Well I volunteer to foster motherless baby animals in my home, I still get the gratification, no pay, but I can't imagine not doing this.
Keep your sights set on what your good at and how you can turn that into a paying job for you. Are you good at talking, perhaps a phone job? There are many reputable phone jobs out there with places like the American Cancer Society. I'm just using that as an example.
Many hospitals have greeter positions, that require your mind not your body. I have a brotherinlaw who has a good position in a hospital, he hooked us up with the printing job, making invitations for the Dr.'s private affairs as well as for several events for the hospital. WE even have two events every year that we have exclusively. The hospital doesn't know I do it in my PJ's in my basement, we have a printing business, thats all they need to know. We have virtually no overhead, so we can offer the lowest prices compared to big companys, they help us by ordering we help them by giving them great prices, everybody wins! I have even done invitations for the VP of the hospital. WE didn't even have a business license until after we did 2 jobs for them.
Now I never dreamed 5 years ago that I would EVER be printing anything for anybody let alone the VP of one of the two major hospitals in Cleveland! I have no schooling, just a high school diploma. I actually taught myself how to use a computer with all that spare time I had.
You can do whatever you set your mind to! and don't you forget that! Your not worthless because your body has problems, Please? give yourself a chance. Sit back and look at what you like to do, that you can do and go from there. I'm praying for you, I know you are capable of many things.
Good Luck & please keep us updated?
God BLess
Carol
