I have a work contract ending in 11 months and really like the idea of biking (that's bycicle, not motorbike) across the US. I'm from the UK and would presumably fly to my starting destination then get a plane back from my destination. I'd be doing it for 3 months, which is the longest I can stay in the country.
My question is, how many states do you think I could cover? I'm of average-to-low fitness, but plan to start bike training pretty soon. I also add the term realistically, because on my way I'd be making for a hostel/motel each night (or camping under the stars, that part is still in the early planning stages) and taking in the sights.
I plan to start from the east coast, and am undecided whether to aim for the Midwest or South route. Any help would be massively appreciated!
