I performed a routine check on my engine oil level a few weeks ago and was surprised the dipstick showed a ZERO level ! although i had no black engine smoke emitted. Also i have a feeling the engine piston ring may be loose due to the sound it sometimes makes while i accelerate ( a ringing sound). There were no visible oil leaks anywhere.
i topped it up with routine engine oil, i.e i added approx 2-3 litres. Few minutes later when i checked the oil level, it shows an excess amount of oil added of about 50% higher than the recommended level. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE when i added approx 2-3 litres to a Zero level dipstick??
AND now i have the same problem again. the car shows a Zero level AGAIN and i dont know why. Should i top it up with further oil and be worried i am doing it in excess, why all the weird readings? help!
