Reading E-books

I have a Tungsten T with iSilo v.3.3 and Palm Reader v.1.120b8 installed.

Certain books with the extension .pdb will not show up in either program yet they are hot synching to the palm because the total freespace on the palm decrements appropriately.

This is driving me crazy!! Are there different formats for .pdb books? Is there another reader out there that reads the 'different' .pdb files?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Unfortunately, most of the reading programs use the same file extension for their ebook files. As a matter of fact, it is not only just the reading programs, but several other Palm programs use PDB as the file extension. PDB stands for Palm Database.

To help keep your files from getting mixed, group your files in your applications assigned folder on an SD card. For iSilo, the ebooks should go into Palm\Programs\iSilo. Plucker files go in Palm\Programs\Plucker and I believe eReader files go in Palm\Programs\Books . Avoid puting all your files in the Launch folder, because most programs will look in this folder and will list files not intended for that particular program. Read the documentation for your reading programs to find out what the assigned folder is. Also, when downloading ebooks, take note of what the file format is. One good site where ebook downloads are labelled is http://www.memoware.com . Hope this helps.

Well these PDB files are generated by ebook studio I convert from .lit files.

As I found out tonight, ebook studio generates files readable by Palm Reader... it's just that I had an earlier version of Palm Reader and now have the right version.

Thanks for all your help.
